Valencia!
We arrived home from Lisbon with a 2 hour turn around time to get on our train to Valencia. I opened our door to a surprise of 4 boys in our apartment and I let out a bit of an eek! Madison proceeded to say, "It's okay their supposed to be here." We walked in and met Maggie's guy friends from Virginia that were going to stay in our apartment for the next couple nights. They scurried out and then Madison's 4 friends scurried in shortly after to grab their stuff and head out to Paris. We unpacked and repacked and headed to our train!
After a 2 hour train ride... WE MADE IT! We headed to our airbnb complete with towel swans on the bed, a massive fruit basket, and a full dob kit. Then we headed out to the Meuseum of Arts and Sciences via the public bus to meet Maggie and her visiting friend Alyssa. The whole area was beautiful with greenery and modern buildings. We sat to drink a few beers and catch up and then we headed to dinner over by the beach. We got drinks at a cute little cafe on the beach and headed to our dinner spot which seemed to be closed. We texted our friend Anna who is studying in Valencia to meet up somewhere cheap and yummy! The beach district had ZERO taxis, as it isn't beach season yet. We walked about 2 miles to the restaurant so we had worked up an appetite! It was a nice tapas and drinks outdoor restaurant complete with free shots at the end! We then decided to head home and rest up for a big day of touring.
We woke up early Tuesday morning and walked the city, hitting all the sites in just 2 hours. We then stopped to buy bathing suits so we could lay out later! It was SUNNY and 75!!! We got a delicious traditional Paella lunch and scraped the massive bowl clean! We grabbed some beers and laid out in our jeans and bathing suit tops. We then headed back to the city and walked around a bit got some gelato and went to grab our bags from the airbnb. We decided to walk to the train station since we had time. We planned to stop somewhere to eat but no where was serving... so we grabbed some snacks and bottles of wine from the grocery. We hopped on the train, ate our snacks, and drank our wine. We ran out of wine and wanted to keep the fun going so we ordered some vodka tonics at the cafeteria on the train and then we arrived to Madrid!
We got home and Maggie told us that we MUST go out and show her guy friends a good time. We quickly got ready and hit the town! We were headed to Dubliners and out of nowhere this Asian man came flying by with a karate kick to the cheek of Nick, the most handsome boy of Mags friends. He then punched Nick while he was down and proceeded to punch Katz, their other friend who went to help, and then Maggie chased the Asain man away! It was all so crazy and so fast, and literally for no reason. Maggie took Nick home to get him ice and we later found out they ended up spending the night at the Madrid HOSPITAL! The rest of us continued our night to Dubliners and then were headed to Joy, a club, and the promoters told us to go to the Room, another bar. We went to the room and had some weird vibes so we continued our way to Joy at the door they said it would be $17 to get in so we took a slight detour to a churro and chocolate place and ended our night there! We all went right to sleep and the boys had a 5am wake-up call for their flight to Barcelona!
