School, drink, school, drink
Another week of school in Madrid!
Monday:
Connor "Ciroc Boy" Melhorn, our friend from USC, is in town which clearly means drinks on a Monday. So we hit one of our favorite spots that we went to on our very first night in Madrid. San Ildelfonso is just right around the corner from our apartment and is a very cool environment for drinks! Wine, mojitos, and beer was flowing, and we stayed until they closed. Successful Monday night, however I didn't think so when I woke up at 7am Tuesday morning for class.
Tuesday:
Our later class was cancelled! So we came home early and enjoyed some free time to of course....nap. We woke up, worked out, and were off to "Tapa Tuesday." Our favorite day of the week. Basically a great excuse to go get great food and drinks with our crew. This was definitely our favorite one yet. We went to La Pajarita and enjoyed delicious tapas, fried potatoes dipped in eggs and popped corn, quesadillas, and fresh edamame hummus! Really great food and wine, we will definitely return. One place wasn't enough this Tuesday, so we met John, Harris, Gordon, and Bryan at their favorite Mexican restaurant under their new apartment. They had roommate issues and had to move out (long story). After a couple of Margarita Pitchers and a bit of guacamole, we barely made it on the metro before it closed to head home! Successful Tapa Tuesday.
Yesterday was short, and we used our free time to try to begin to plan spring break! (so excited)
And today, Thursday!
I am sitting in my Spanish Wine Tasting and Cultures class wondering why we haven't started tasting wines yet....still two more weeks to wait! But later this evening we are headed to Morocco, so after class we go home to work out and pack up to catch our bus after midnight! We will wake up in Granada and begin our weekend adventure through Gibraltar to Morocco. We can't wait!!!!!
